All about Peeling Nails

Nobody likes chipped, flaky nails and tries a lot to different products and tips to stop the problem from happening to their nails. It is also necessary to know the reasons why it happens as necessary as it is to cure the problem. If you get the reasons, you will be able to stop the problem happening and cure it in best way accordingly. Best way to diagnose the issue is to keep an eye on the symptoms of peeling nails. Peeling nails problem usually comes after weak and brittle nails. If you find any one or more from these symptoms, it directs toward the alarming sign that your nails are prone to peeling:

  • Chirping
  • Spontaneous separation from nail beds
  • Loosening
  • Falling off

There can be variable reasons behind peeling nails that you can cure easily by recognizing the symptoms, adopting precautions, and applying treatment tips. Chemical Exposure

Improper Diet
Balanced and proper diet is a key to a healthy life. A reason behind weak and brittle nails can be vitamin deficiencies or low-calcium diet. Diets containing biotin, vitamin B group, vitamin E, and sulfur are nails friendly and deficiency of these diet elements can be extremely harmful to nails’ health. Using plenty of water and fresh juice also makes nails healthy.

Climate or Environmental Change
Frequent or unusual change in environment and fluctuations of climate can greatly influence the nails, and also make other health disorders. Like the climate affects the body skin, the same way nails also get influence of weather conditions. Natural oil of nail beds dries with the dry climate condition that results dryness and peeling of nails. Similarly, too cold weather conditions and dust also result in peeling nails.

Immersion in Water
Over-exposure or immersion of water can also be reason behind weak chipped nails. When your nails extra ordinary immersion with water or detergents for long, they start absorbing the effects; it results in swelling up the nail beds and separate the nail spontaneous from nail beds. When you dry the liquid, you find the chipped nails in weak condition that hurts the finger tips, too. It also causes skin peeling from other areas of fingers around the nails by turning it whitish.

Medication Allergy
If you are using medication for some health related issue, the wrong or excess use of those medications can put the drying effects on skin and nails. It may also happen even if you are using those drugs correctly but they do not suit your health conditions in some way. In such situation, you should immediately consult your physician, double check your diet and provide appropriate moisture to nail. If your nails start tending toward dryness continuously, it may get damaged shortly.

Post-Fake Nails Suffering
Though acrylic nails look pretty nice but they make your natural nails paper thin and damaged. Fake nails make the natural nails suffer the shocks and flaky condition, and destroy their original look. You should make as less as possible use of fake nails, and properly moisturize them before removing. Regular use of cosmetics, such as nail polish, also makes their original color turn yellowish.

Other Nail Diseases and Wrong Treatments
There can also be some factors other than those non-medical factors mentioned above, which patients get inherited from their parents, or some infections coming from the environment. It may involve some skin infections or nail allergies such as Psoriasis or Yeast. These infections also cause peeling nails and destroy the beauty of your hands. Psoriasis is caused due to fungal attack and peeling nails are one of the symptoms of Psoriasis. A wrong treatment to these infections may lead to the permanent loss of nail health that is a serious issue.

Relation Between Working Capabilities and Environment With Health

Provide a quiet environment at work is the key to success for any business. Comfortable working environment for workers is also a part of the workplace healthy and safe. And reasonable effort must be adapted to the workplace and working environment as comfortable as possible.

Health and safety is essential for any kind of work. There is a responsibility of employers to provide their workers with a smoke free environment. The laws that are related to smoking in the workplace are the accountability of the Ministry of Health. The smoke free policy is essential in the workplace and its negative effects are well known among the people. The smoke-free policy can be added to contracts of employment, during the recruitment and the various policies in place for others. This policy can be promoted in their place of work by printing and displaying signs of smoke-free offices in different locations. Along with this, all contractors must be notified of the smoke-free policy.

Seats and standing can be painful at work. If it is essential for employees to perform their work while sitting there that will be provided so that appropriate to the task at hand and provide greater comfort and stability. Good health is something that is very essential yet we need to focus more and more on gaining life with full health.

A worker may also experience stress when exposed to low temperatures. Such stress can occur when workers are required to work outside of the coldest months, high in wet weather. It is the responsibility of employers that employees wear protective clothing. The clothing is not enough as there is still the need to ensure that appropriate measures are also taken. Increased stress can have serious consequences, including death, therefore, employees should be provided with proper precautions.

When a worker suffers from cold stress, he may experience:

• The stiff joints

• Reduced muscle strength

• Loss of dexterity

• Less mental care

Women are considered more prone to increased risk of chilling injury. This is due to the reason that they are less able to increase its temperature by exercise. Other factors that may affect the level of chilling injury are increasing:

• Age

• Fatigue

• Medicines

• Alcohol

• Smoking

Are you scared of fats?

Believe it or not, fat is good for you – in moderation. It’s a concentrated form of energy, and a storehouse of vitamins A, D, E and K. But two tablespoons a day is all the average adult needs, and more soon turns into unwanted pounds.
Saturated and unsaturated
Saturated fats are the ones associated with high cholesterol levels and heart disease, while unsaturates are believed to be much healthier. A quick rule of thumb is that in general the harder the fat at room temperature the more saturated it is likely to be. Meat fat, lard, suet, butter, harder margarines, coconut oil and palm oil are heavily saturated; soft margarine, other vegetable oils and fish oils much less so.
Blended oils
Avoid products labelled simply vegetable oil or blended oil: they tend to be of low quality and often contain saturates. Go for pure oils such as sunflower, soya, corn or olive instead.
Oily fish
Darker-fleshed fish such as mackerel, salmon and herrings (kippers) are not only delicious and low in saturated fats, they also contain a fatty acid (one of the building blocks of more complex fats) called Omega-3, which actu­ally reduces the risk of heart attacks and blood clots.
Fat you can’t see
Stay away from processed foods such as liver paste, pate, sausages, salami, meat pies, fried foods and choc­olates – they’re all full of hidden fat. Look for low-fat alternatives, or eat unprocessed foods instead.
Once in a while
Homemade bis­cuits and cakes are healthier than the bought variety if you cook with unsaturated fat such as sunflower margarine. Keep them for occa­sional treats, though, and if you do buy biscuits or cakes read the label to see how much saturated fat you’re getting.
Low-fat alternatives
  • Instead of whole milk, use skim­med milk in sauces and baking, and semi-skimmed for drinking if you find skimmed too thin.
  • Buy tinned fish in brine rather than oil.
  • Choose less fatty Edam, Camembert or cottage cheese and avoid hard or cream cheeses.
  • Use yoghurt to replace cream in desserts and mayonnaise and oily dressings on salads.

CUTTING DOWN ON FAT
  • Eat red meat only once or twice a week, and less fatty alternatives such as fish, chicken, turkey or vegetable dishes the rest of the time.
  • Oily fish twice a week should keep your heart healthy and help to counteract the effects of saturated fats in other foods.
  • Choose lean cuts of meat and trim all visible fat before cooking.
  • Skim off any fat that rises to the top of the pan when you are cooking, or refrigerate cooked dishes overnight and lift off the cold fat in pieces before reheating.
  • Cut chips thick to reduce the amount of oil they absorb. Fry them in sunflower or soya oil, drain well and eat at once. For even less fat, try oven chips.
  • Grill, steam or bake food instead of frying it, and if you do fry it use a non-stick pan with the minimum amount of oil. Drain fried food on absorbent kitchen paper before eating.
  • Grill or roast food on a rack to let the fat drain away.
  • Use less red meat in stews and casseroles, and add a handful of soaked haricot beans instead. You’ll get more fibre with less fat.
  • Don’t eat more than three or four eggs a week.
  • Brown meat in the least amount of oil, or avoid browning altogether.
  • Spread butter or margarine thinly on to your bread and toast, or cut them out  altogether. You may not even notice the difference.
  • Make your own salad dressings with sunflower or olive oil, and avoid bottled dressings which often contain saturated oils.
  • Chicken has little fat and if you remove the skin before cooking, you’ll get rid of most of it.
